This buttercream icing is amazing. It goes so well with chocolate cake or cupcakes and provides a deliciously creamy break between bites of chocolate cake. It tastes a bit like ice-cream as well which makes it even better!
Ingredients:
200g Real Butter, at room temperature
2 tsps vanilla extract (not essence)
500g Icing Sugar, sifted
100ml Full Fat Milk
Method:
1. Beat together the butter and vanilla extract for 1 minute.
2. While the mixer is still going, slow add (bit by bit) the sifted icing sugar.3. Once combined add 100ml milk and mix again. If the mixture seems too thick add a tbsp of milk and mix again.
4. If you want to, add half a tsp of food colouring to give the icing a colour of your choice.
5. Pipe out the buttercream onto cupcakes using a star nozzle to create one of the below designs. Alternatively, spread onto the centre, top and sides of a 10 inch cake.
